When this little filly was born at the reasonable hour of 10.50pm we thought we'd be able to get to bed at a decent time... however she had other ideas! We actually didn't expect her arrival so soon. Her dam had no bag at all until the morning of the day she was born, and gave no signs she was going into labour! The birth was absolutely textbook. But, this little madam was more interested in galloping around the pen than finding the milk bar, what followed was a very long night topping her up but finally at 7.30am she had latched on all by herself! She is absolutely tiny like her dam, and has the prettiest little head too. A granddaughter of our foundation mare Edendale Golden Princess (Twinkle). She reminds us of a little deer, which is why we have named her Plumtree Little Sika after a species of deer!
