Arriving at the less socialable hour of 4am and a bit of a stressful birth, for us anyway. My alarm had woken me up to check the mares just as Bea went into labour with her first foal. We went straight to the barn to be greeted by just the foals head coming out, no sign of either leg. Things weren't looking good, but Melvin managed to get one leg forward but needed Bea to get up so he could find the other. As we waited for her to do so Bea did one big push and her filly foal came flying out, one leg still back. We couldn't believe it! She is a lovely strong foal, with a big star. She loves to pose too! Only a couple of days old at the time of writing.
