Our foaling seaon began on 20th April with the early appearance of Plumtree Dash. Born at 10pm we were thinking we could be in bed by 12. But a typical colt, he was sucking the top of the mares bag! Luckily Donna is such a good mare to deal with just stood no headcollar on while she was milked so we could syringe feed her foal. It was a very long, cold night in the barn. The following day our brilliant vet Damian arrived just after lunch to tube the foal and suggested he may have dummy foal syndrome. Although the thought had crossed our mind he seemed to lively but Damian did the madigan squeeze too and within an hour the foal was latched on! The next day we had his Igg tested and as expected it was low so my other fab vet Libby, assisted by the lovely Ellie, gave the plasma transfusion at home. I'm very happy to say Dash Hasn’t looked back since. He is a typical Jax foal in looks. Having a lovely shape, and markings!
